Columbia Food Bank says Thank You!!

Recently I read that there are three essential prayers. They are "help", "thanks", and "WOW!" On the weekend of November 17 and 16, I had the occasion to use all three. I prayed the Columbia Food Bank would receive help from the Extra Ordinary Give event November 17, and the "scouting for Food" drive supported by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Columbia and Mountville on the 18th.

My prayers turned to "thanks" as we received the remarkable amount of $11,008 from the Extraordinary Give and more than 8,000 pounds of food collected by the Scouts. I offer special thanks to the Gallery at Garth for hosting a wonderful Extraordinary Give party that certainly helped our cause. And to Scout Troops 281, 181, 35, 90, 151, Cadet Troop 70775. Blessings to all of boys, girls, and all of their wonderful leaders who braved the cold and rain to collect and deliver the donated food to our doors.

It is awesome to think that so many people donated time, talent, and treasure to help people who need it. So, for all the help we received, the Columbia Food Bank says "thanks" to one and all. "WOW!" We could not have done it without you.
